This year, we gave out 150 jars of homemade granola to our friends & clients and another 50 jars to fabulous women we met at Meet & Eat.
We’re always a little crazy when it comes to Valentine’s Day. I used to get irritated when I was single. Don’t worry, it still irritates me now. My man isn’t exactly the red roses type. But Valentine’s Day has really become something else for me now.
Generally, I’ll use any excuse not to market Kish+Co. I don’t like paying for advertising space. I don’t see the point in having our logo among a sponsors list. While we send out e-newsletters, I make sure ours are without jargon and boredom. I leave networking events when I know people are just giving out business cards without having a conversation.
To me, B2B is actually, C2C and even more so, P2P and F2F. Don’t worry, there is no math needed for solving the above.
Business to business marketing is actually consumer to consumer. Because at the end of the day, the person absorbing the message is a person, not a company or a trading name. It’s a person. So the message you’re sending out, goes from Person to Person. But wouldn’t you like my message more, if you’re getting it from a Friend? Therefore, Friend to Friend?
Think about it… Would you rather get something in your mail from a business up your street, or a postcard from a friend?
Therefore, every piece of marketing / promo / coolness that leaves the studio, goes out with the thought in mind…
“What would we send to our friends?”

This Richard Branson Quote just reinforces my idea. (I follow him on Instagram = wise thing to do).

Here is a little on the label design (we’ve got a lettering-lover as our intern: Kitty Lo). She’s shared some of her process work and trust me, this stuff takes time, love, passion and patience.
She starts off in pencil and has several drafts before she moves on to pen. You’ll also see her ingredients list (*squeal!*)
And here is the final seal.
I did want to have a message, but I definitely didn’t want to offer:
x2 business card designs for the price of one 20% off
I wanted to offer my time. My thoughts and my ideas. This has the most value to any of our clients and here was the ticket.
Thankfully, before I made the batches, I caught up with my friend, Kat from Nitty Gritty Digital and while we talked about our upcoming lunch at Meet & Eat, I thought, it would be awesome to give the ladies a little granola for Valentines Day.
Big thanks to the lovely Justine at Meet & Eat for letting me provide the goodness.
The biggest reward is the social sharing & the appreciation. It floods your inbox and you know folks love it.
